Mr. White, Mr. Black Hai, is a hilarious yet suspenseful movie about two con artists who pretend to be each other. Laxman (Ritesh Deshmukh) and Karan (Tusshar Kapoor) are two close childhood friends who live in the same neighborhood and go to the same school. The only difference between them is that Laxman wears white clothes and Karan wears black clothes, and they both carry this into their personas as well; Laxman is a nice guy and Karan is a crook and people can never tell the difference between them except for their mother (Nana Patekar). But when they accidentally meet each other and decide to switch identities in order to pull off a big and bold and daring crime, all hell breaks loose. Karan is wary of Laxman's smooth methods but is unable to resist trying it himself. As they commit their heists together, the threesome grows closer and closer. But when Laxman discovers that Karan is actually a terrible criminal, he tries without success to persuade him out of his ways. However Laxman's trust in Karan is soon put to the test for real once he finds out about a secret that Karan has been keeping from him for a long time... Laxman is married to Karan's mom (Nana Patekar), and they live next door to each other. The two men can't tell each other apart, but both of them know that the other is involved with crime. Things start getting interesting when they accidentally switch clothes one day at home. Laxman gets caught for shoplifting; Karan places a restraining order against his friend but then keeps stealing from him. Soon the two are thrust into bigger crimes, including kidnapping and murder, as they try to protect themselves from being caught by police. With Laxman and Karan on the run and their secret identities in jeopardy, it's only a matter of time before the other man figures out which is which.
